Welcome to Café Pronto — where every cup tells a story.
Our family opened the original Café Pronto in 1995 in River Grove with a simple dream: to
create a place where friends become family and every visit feels like home. After the
heartbreaking loss of our beloved son in 1996, we closed our doors — only to reopen in 2011 in
Norridge, carrying that same family spirit, full of love, and ready to share a taste of Italy once
more.
Rooted in our family’s heritage from Palermo, Italy, Café Pronto was born from our grandpa’s
vision of a neighborhood “club” not one with members, but with friends— a place to laugh, talk,
and connect. For him, it’s more than a café; it’s a reflection of the Italian way of life — warmth,
friendship, and good conversation over a perfect cup of coffee. “Pronto” means ready in Italian
— and we’re always ready: ready with good coffee, good company, and a heartfelt welcome.
